An automatic tablet counting machine uses counting channels and product sensors to detect individual tablets, capsules, or softgels as they move through the counting system. The counted product is then directed into bottles according to the programmed count.

Automatic counting equipment can combine counting and filling into a continuous production process, reducing the need for manual counting and handling. For manufacturers producing vitamins, supplements, nutraceutical products, and pharmaceuticals, the counting system becomes an important part of the overall bottling process.

Product Feeding — Tablets, capsules, or softgels are introduced into the machine's hopper and feeding system.
Vibratory Feeding — The product moves through vibratory feed trays. The UAC machines use multiple-stage vibration feeding with adjustable tray frequency.
Product Separation — Products are directed into individual counting channels, each with its own product sensor to detect items as they pass through.
Counting — The sensors detect and count individual products rather than estimating quantity by weight or volume.
Bottle Positioning — Bottles are positioned beneath the filling nozzles. The machines use diving nozzles to hold the bottle in position during filling.
Filling — Once the programmed count is reached, the counted tablets, capsules, or softgels are discharged into the bottle.
Continuous Production — The filled bottle moves away and the next bottle is positioned for the following count, creating a continuous automated process.

The Natronics automatic counting machines can be used for more than tablets. Depending on the model and application, the equipment is designed to count and fill tablets, hard gelatin capsules, softgels, and round pills.

The UAC-16, UAC-24, and UAC-32 product pages specifically describe tablet and capsule counting applications. Actual product suitability should always be evaluated against the product dimensions and machine specifications.

One of the major differences between automatic tablet counters is the number of counting channels. Natronics offers 16 channels (UAC-16), 24 channels (UAC-24), and 32 channels (UAC-32). More channels allow more product to be counted simultaneously.

As production requirements increase, manufacturers may need a higher-channel configuration to achieve the desired bottle throughput. Channel count should be considered together with the required production output rather than viewed as a specification by itself. See our 16 vs 24 vs 32 channel comparison guide for a deeper breakdown.

The UAC-16 is a 16-channel automatic tablet and capsule counting machine. The current Natronics specification lists production output of up to 80 bottles per minute. The UAC-16 uses three-stage vibration feeding, dual diving nozzles, air-cylinder bottle indexing, and a color touch screen HMI. It is designed for applications including vitamins and supplements, nutraceuticals, and pharmaceuticals.

The UAC-24 is a 24-channel automatic tablet and capsule counting machine. The current Natronics specification lists production output of up to 110 bottles per minute. The machine uses dynamic photoelectric sensors, three-stage vibration feeding, dual diving nozzles, and air-cylinder bottle indexing. The UAC-24 is positioned between the 16-channel and 32-channel configurations in the Natronics lineup.

The UAC-32 is a 32-channel automatic tablet and capsule counting machine. The configuration combines two 16-channel counting units side by side. The current Natronics specification lists production output of up to 120 bottles per minute. The UAC-32 uses dual diving nozzles, three-stage vibration feeding, and air-cylinder bottle indexing.

Automatic counting equipment is particularly relevant to vitamin and supplement manufacturers producing tablets, capsules, and softgels in bottles. Instead of manually counting product into individual containers, an automatic counter can integrate product feeding, counting, and bottle filling into a production process.

The appropriate machine depends on product type, product dimensions, bottle format, required count per bottle, production output, number of SKUs, and overall packaging line requirements. See our full automatic tablet counters for vitamins and supplements page for a deeper look.

There is an important distinction between industrial tablet counting equipment and small pharmacy counting devices. The UAC-16, UAC-24, and UAC-32 are designed for production environments where manufacturers need to count and fill large quantities of tablets, capsules, or softgels as part of an automated production and packaging process.

If your operation is manufacturing or packaging vitamins, supplements, nutraceutical products, or pharmaceuticals at production scale, an industrial automatic counting system may be the appropriate category of equipment to evaluate. Not sure which configuration fits? See our how to choose an automatic tablet counter guide.

An automatic tablet counting machine detects and counts individual tablets or capsules as they pass through dedicated counting channels and then fills the counted product into bottles.

Yes. The Natronics UAC product pages describe the machines as capable of counting hard gelatin capsules as well as tablets and softgels.

Natronics currently offers 16-channel, 24-channel, and 32-channel configurations.

The primary difference is the number of simultaneous counting channels. The UAC-16 has 16 channels, while the UAC-32 combines two 16-channel counting units for a total of 32 channels.

The current Natronics specifications list up to 80 bottles/min for the UAC-16, up to 110 bottles/min for the UAC-24, and up to 120 bottles/min for the UAC-32. Actual production performance depends on the product, bottle, count, and operating conditions.

No. These are industrial production machines intended for manufacturing and packaging operations.
