Start with your actual bottling volume, not your aspirations. If your current or realistically near-term production sits comfortably under 80 bottles/min, a 16-channel counter covers it without paying for capacity you won't use. Channel count doesn't change counting accuracy — all three configurations count with the same dedicated per-channel sensor design, so you're purely trading off throughput and cost, not precision.
A 24-channel counter is the middle option worth considering if you're already bumping against a 16-channel unit's ceiling but don't yet need to double capacity outright — it adds real headroom without the footprint or cost of a full 32-channel setup.
The 32-channel configuration is functionally two 16-channel counters run side by side (or built as a single integrated frame on request), which has a practical benefit beyond raw speed: if one side ever needs service, the other can often keep running, and replacement parts are shared across both halves rather than being unique to a larger single machine.
Floor space is worth checking too — a 32-channel setup takes meaningfully more room than a single 16-channel unit unless you request the integrated single-frame build.
